NEW Yorkers refused to be silenced by terror as residents took to the streets to celebrate the City’s annual Halloween parade. The fearless city dwellers donned spooky costumes, banged drums and blasted trumpets in a show of defiance to the horror that stalked their streets just hours before when an alleged terrorist killed eight and injured 11 in Lower Manhattan. The attack took place just two miles away, but that did not stop revellers walking down 6th avenue to embrace the parade – which has taken place annually for more than four decades. The alleged perpetrator of the terror attack has been identified as Sayfullo Saipov, an Uzbekistan national who moved to the US in 2010. Following the attack, Mayor Bill de Blasio praised the resilience of his city’s population.
