The Reds managed to beat PSG at Anfield earlier this season with a 3-2 scoreline, so this match promises another goal-fest between two goliaths of European football. Defence Alisson Becker will lineup in between the sticks for the Merseyside outfit after keeping a clean sheet against Watford last weekend. Simon Mignolet will sit on Klopp’s bench as a back-up to the Brazilian shot-stopper. The centre-back duo of Virgil Van Dijk and Dejan Lovren should continue at the heart of the Liverpool defence following another resolute display from them at Vicarage Road on Saturday. Trent Alexander-Arnold will keep his place at right-back after scoring with a brilliant free-kick last weekend which would give him a lot of confidence going into this clash at Paris. Andrew Robertson has arguably

Click here to Join the whatsapp group for all CHELSEA NEWS Chelsea star poised to sign new deal and become one of the best paid players in England - report N'Golo Kante is reportedly set to commit his future to Chelsea, despite links with Paris Saint-Germain. The Ligue 1 giants were reportedly keen to sign the midfielder this summer, but L’Equipe have claimed that the Blues have made a move which will hopefully put an end to any speculation of a potential exit. An arrival from Leicester City after playing a key role in their surprise 2015/2016 Premier League title winning campaign, Kante helped the Blues regain their status as the best team in England during his first season starring in their FA Cup final victory over Manchester United back in May. His performances for France at this summer's World Cup didn't go unnoticed either. In fact his compatriots dedicated a song in his honour after a brilliant performance in the round of 16 clash against Argentina en route t

Daniel Sturridge Charged by FA with Betting Violations

Image
Daniel Sturridge has been charged with misconduct in relation to alleged breaches of the Football Association betting rules in January, although the Liverpool striker insists that he has “never gambled on football”. Even if this is found to be true a guilty verdict could still be returned due to the rules Sturridge is alleged to have contravened being wider than directly betting on the sport. It is believed the charge relates to Sturridge’s loan move from Liverpool to West Bromwich Albion at the beginning of the year, with the FA pointedly referring to “the period of January 2018” in its statement. The FA has conducted an exhaustive eight-month investigation but Sturridge remains adamant he has done nothing wrong. A Liverpool spokesperson said: “Daniel has given his full and unequivocal cooperation throughout this process and has assured the club he will continue to do so. Daniel has also stated categorically that he has never gambled on football. As with any issue of this nature

Okorocha attacks Oshiomhole, Says APC Chairman is ‘Father of Nepotism’

Image
The spat in the All Progressives Congress (APC) over its recent primaries is not abating as Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State yesterday threw some jabs at the party’s National Chairman, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, accusing him of nepotism. The national chairman had at the weekend explained that the governor, along with three others, had been offended by his refusal to do their biddings, specifically saying Okorocha was particularly angry because he had refused to assist him to establish a political dynasty in Imo State. But Okorocha reacted to this charge of nepotism yesterday in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo, and said it was Oshiomhole that was the “father of nepotism,” accusing him of promoting his relations into several political offices in Edo State. “To say the least, Adams Oshiomhole is the “father – father” of family dynasty or nepotism or “familiocracy,” he said, refuting the allegation that he was sponsoring his family members to take over

Click here to Join the whatsapp group for all MAN CITY NEWS The Blues, who have hit both Southampton and Shakhtar Donetsk for six in the past seven days, have been even more devastating than they were last season in recent weeks, but Pep Guardiola saw fit to reiterate in his pre-match press conference on Friday that there will be no room for let-up against Jose Mourinho's side. "I would like to play the same game as last season when we played top for 75 minutes but United showed us that they just need 10 or 15 minutes to create a chance," the City boss said, with reference to the Blues' surrendering of a two-goal lead in the 3-2 home defeat against United back in April. It will be interesting to see quite how the lessons learnt from that April day will be translated into Guardiola's team selection for the 177th

Hazard calls for referees protection "I'm feeling wear and tear of opponents’ rough treatment"

Image
Click here to Join the whatsapp group for all CHELSEA NEWS Eden Hazard has made the frank admission the aggressive treatment that he is often subjected by his markers is starting to take its toll on his body. The Chelsea forward, who made his first start in almost three weeks when playing a little over an hour in Thursday’s Europa League win at Bate Borisov, has been fouled on average once every 24 minutes in the Premier League this season, 28 times altogether. While there have been more fouls on Wilfried Zaha (32), Will Hughes and James Maddison (both 29), that trio have all played considerably more minutes than Hazard’s 693 in the top flight. The aggressive tackles are starting to have an effect on the Belgian, now in his 11th season as a first‑team regular with Lille and Chelsea. “I’m 27 now and starting to get older, so I have to take more care of my body,” he said. “I am feeling the wear and tear. I have been playing football as a professional for more than 10 years now. It is p

Six APC Governors implicated in Oshiomhole’s DSS arrest

Image
For eight hours last Sunday, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, was held hostage at the Department of State Security Service (DSS) at the behest of some governors and some forces in the party to force him to resign. Oshiomhole, however, stood his ground and rebuffed the pressure mounted on him to resign. He told the DSS that he committed no crime and would therefore not resign, no matter the intimidation. Although the APC chairman was caught unawares, he maintained his stand even when DSS officials tried to invoke the name of President Muhammadu Buhari. He pointedly told them that the President was in the know of all that happened during the APC primaries and that it was their collective resolve not to allow imposition of candidates by anybody, no matter his status in the party. It later turned out that some security operatives had plotted Oshiomhole’s resignation with about six APC governors. The plot to lay ambush for him w

Rochas okorocha:Hope Uzodinma will never win IMO state Governorship Election

Image
It is clear as Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state, yesterday said that Senator Hope Uzodimma, who is the state governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has no capacity to win election in Imo. Okorocha said this in a statement to newsmen in Owerri, by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo. It stated: “Even when we have not said or written anything about Chief Hope Uzodinma since the controversy over the governorship ticket of All Progressives Congress, APC, for the State began, he took up the Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha in the media, claiming that the governor underestimates his unpopularity among other insulting remarks. And we swiftly want to say interalia: “We won’t honour Chief Hope Uzodinma with response because even when politics today seems to be all comers affair people should be humble enough to know their superiors in certain areas of life.” Okorocha warmed that,”Chief Hope Uzodinma is not a member of APC in Imo State. The only unbeatable club in Europe[Chelsea] Strongest 4-3-3 XI to face Everton

Image
Click here to Join the whatsapp group for all CHELSEA NEWS Chelsea will be looking to keep the pressure on at the top of the table with a win when they welcome Everton to Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon. Here is the side I think Maurizio Sarri will select for the game: Goalkeeper: Kepa Arrizabalaga was excellent once again on Thursday night so the Spaniard is certain to continue between the sticks on Sunday with Willy Caballero having to make-do with a place on the bench. Defence: Sarri is set to make wholesale changes to his defence after resting his key men for the Europa League win over BATE Borisov. Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso were both rested in Belarus so they should come in for Davide Zappacosta and Emerson Palmeiri in the full-back positions. Gary Cahill and Andreas Christensen kept a clean sheet at BATE but the duo are expected to drop back to the bench with David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger recalled to the middle of the back four after being given the night off

The Sky Blues absolutely ripped Shakhtar Donetsk apart (6-0) in the CL and should be highly confident going into the derby. Click here to Join the whatsapp group for all UNITED NEWS  As far as Jose Mourinho’s team news is concerned, we can expect the Portuguese manager to make at least two changes in the team that started vs Juve. Juan Mata scored a brilliant free kick goal vs the Serie A giants and he should get the nod to start vs the Citizens. On the other hand, Rashford should replace Alexis Sanchez to start in the center forward position. Martial should retain his place in the starting XI. Herrera has proved to be effective in the recent games and he should keep his place in the starting lineup.

Team News Danny Welbeck suffered a horrible ankle injury during a Europa League game against Sporting. Therefore, he will be out for the foreseeable future. Stephan Lichtsteiner also had a hamstring problem on Thursday, while Nacho Monreal recovers from a similar injury. Mohamed Elneny is still out and may come back after the international break. Formation – 4-2-3-1 Manager – Unai Emery Bernd Leno (GK) The German has taken over the first-choice role in the goalkeeping department. He has had to wait for that but for the way Emery wants his team to play, Leno is an ideal man between the sticks. Hector Bellerin (RB) The Spaniard just got himself fit for the Liverpool game last week and was rested for the Europa game. Expect him to start on Sunday. Rob Holding (CB) The youngster has been an

Eden Hazard on the squad list to face BATE in Europa League

Click here to Join the whatsapp group for all CHELSEA NEWS Eden Hazard has travelled for Chelsea’s Europa League clash with BATE Borisov in Belarus, but Marcos Alonso, David Luiz, Antonio Rudiger and Alvaro Morata have been left at home. Hazard missed three matches with a back problem before returning as a substitute in Sunday’s Premier League win over Crystal Palace, but has made the journey to Belarus for the Group L fixture at Borisov Arena. Morata scored twice against Palace, but Blues head coach Maurizio Sarri has opted to rest his in-form striker. “He played for three matches in a row. I thought it was better for him to stay at Cobham and rest and have only training,” said Sarri, speaking in Minsk. Cesc Fabregas was a late withdrawal through illness, resulting in N’Golo Kante travelling.
