Lagos State recovers a staggering amount worth N13m from accounts of dead staff
 The Lagos State Government has recovered N13 million paid into accounts of dead colleagues and overpaid salaries of staff in its ministries and parastatals. This is just as it had demolished 12 buildings in the state in a move to prevent  occurrence of building collapse. This was contained in a document obtained from the state government on  activities of its  Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA) during the third quarter of 2017. It was disclosed in the document that the recovered N13 million  belong to deceased staff,  those that had  stayed beyond their stipulated retirement date and those  who were over paid monthly salary. A breakdown of the recovered funds as  revealed in the document  showed that N7 million was recovered from terminal entitlement of the affected staff. Arsenal are reportedly lining up a £53m deal to sign defender Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli this summer.  The Gunners face a summer of change with Arsene Wenger stepping down as manager after 22 years following a campaign which has seen them post their lowest finish and lowest points tally under the Frenchman.  Arsenal ended the season with the worst defensive record in the top seven and their own highest number of goals conceded since 1983-84, and so have been looking for defensive reinforcements to bolster their back line next term.  The Express reports that the club have identified centre-back Koulibaly as an ideal option to shore up the heart of their defence, which has also been left weakened by a long-term injury to Laurent Koscielny and the retirement of Per Mertesacker.
